What qualifications do you need to be a groundworker?

A groundworker can take on a number of tasks on site, both before and after construction. These include clearing the site, digging trenches for foundations, removing sewage and pipework systems, and getting the ground ready for construction. We recommend two qualifications to prepare you for your role:

Excavation in the Highway – consisting of Signing, Lighting & Guarding, Location & Avoidance of Underground Apparatus and Safe Excavation.

Safe Working in Civils – This accreditation ensures that individuals working in the civils aspects of network construction and maintenance are suitably trained and understand the dangers of working in this environment.
